HOW TO MAKE CHOMINE

Ingredients

  • 1 packet noodles
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic
  • 1 tsp chopped ginger
  • 1 onion (sliced)
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (cabbage, carrot, capsicum, beans)
  • 1–2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp green chilli sauce (optional)
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Spring onion for garnish (optional)

Method

  1. Boil noodles in water with a little salt and oil. Drain and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan/wok. Add garlic and ginger, sauté for few seconds.
  3. Add sliced onion and stir-fry on high flame till slightly soft.
  4. Add all vegetables and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes (keep it crunchy).
  5. Add soy sauce, chilli sauce, ketchup, salt and pepper. Mix well.
  6. Add boiled noodles and toss everything nicely on high flame for 1–2 minutes.
  7. Garnish with spring onion and serve hot.

Tips

  • Always cook chowmein on high flame.
  • Don’t overcook vegetables, crunch is important.
